SMART Online

Over the 2014 calendar year 6076 people in Australia completed one of our courses – SMART Online. This course seeks to enhance the capacity of school and early childhood personnel to effectively respond to the needs of children and young people who have experienced abuse and trauma, and was developed with the support of the South Australian Government.

Updated in 2013, this course contains eleven modules which can be logged in and out of at your own pace, with each module finished when you complete the short knowledge test at the end. The content includes neurobiology knowledge pertaining to child development and trauma, suggestions for good trauma-informed practice in class rooms, audio, informative video and pictures and diagrams to aid learners of all types.

Professionals and volunteers from a diverse range of areas written to us sharing how the course has helped them, and we are thrilled to be able to continue offering it each year. If you aren’t one of the many who have already completed the course, would like to revise your learnings with the new content, or would simply like to find out more, you can click here, and access the training from the button on the right hand side.
